We’ve all heard of Feng Shui, but what is it really? To many people, Feng Shui may seem like a new age practice that tells you what color to paint your door, or how to arrange your furniture-and while yes, you can use Feng Shui to guide you on quick fixes like this…there is so much more to it.

The Life-Changing Magic of Feng Shui

Feng shui is an ancient Chinese practice that has been around for over 3,000 years. It is based on the belief that the energy of your home can have a profound impact on your life. By understanding the principles of Feng Shui, you can create a home that is both beautiful and balanced, and that supports your goals and well-being.

Have you ever felt like something was just off in your home, and by switching around some furniture the room felt so much better? Congratulations, you made your first Feng Shui adjustment! While the practice of Feng Shui may seem quite esoteric, the fundamental principles are really very practical when applied to everyday life. The goal of Feng Shui is to create a home that is harmonious and conducive to relaxation, productivity, and success.

There are many ways that feng shui can improve your life. Here are just a few examples:

  • Clear pathways. Continuing with the idea of the improving the chi in your home, it’s important to ensure the best flow of energy in and around your space. Make sure that your doors can open fully and try to arrange your furniture so that you can easily get from one place to another smoothly, with minimal obstacles.

  • Set intentions. As with any mindfulness practice, setting intentions is very powerful in Feng Shui. When making changes in your space, it’s important to visualize and even state out loud, what it is that you hope to achieve with the practice. For instance, if you add a new plant in your wealth sector, very time you water the plant, you can visualize tending to and fostering the growth of your own wealth.
